Lex Autolease, the country’s leading leasing and fleet management provider, is now using the moDel solution from Ebbon-Dacs to handle all its new vehicle delivery and used vehicle collection operations.
The roll out of the solution across the 58 dealer group network which supplies Lex Autolease with the bulk of its new vehicles comes after a successful month-long trial at three suppliers – BMW Park Lane, Norton Way Group and Swansway Group.
Lex Autolease operates a fleet of more than 380,000 company vehicles on behalf of more than 140,000 customers nationwide and is the country’s number one leasing company, according to the latest FN50 league table of leasing businesses.
It is the latest in a line of major leasing companies to switch to moDel from Oxford-based software solutions provider, Ebbon-Dacs, which is now recognised as the UK’s premier electronic vehicle delivery and collection solution.
moDel has been designed to allow users to automatically upload all electronic vehicle delivery and collection information directly into their back office systems, or into the Leaselink e-procurement platform, thus cutting time, errors and needless administration and speeding up the time to market.
The solution is widely acclaimed by participating dealers because it promotes a better vehicle handover experience and guarantees them faster payments, improving accuracy and transparency.
Liam Gavin, Purchasing & SMR Supplier Network Manager at Lex Autolease, said: ”The use of moDel provides us with a consolidated electronic delivery report for all new vehicles that we can upload straight into our back office.
“It will improve the customer handover experience, accelerate our ability to start new vehicle contracts for corporate customers and allow much faster payments to be made to supplying dealers.
“We expect a smooth transition with the introduction of moDel as many of our supplying dealer groups are already familiar with the solution and the efficiencies that it generates,” he added.
In the last 12 months, Ebbon-Dacs has seen the volume of vehicle transactions going through the moDel solution increase significantly, so that it now handles around 18,000 vehicle movements per month.
The company has recently enhanced the system’s capabilities, and it can now be used on all Android smart phones with screens of five inches or bigger. And by adding a schematic of a generic van to the system’s flat screen, users can now record and notify areas of damage on vans as well as cars.
The use of an inbuilt camera within moDel also provides greater transparency and accuracy over the condition of vehicles being collected and delivered.
Ebbon-Dacs’ Commercial Head – moDel, Michael Terry, said: “We are delighted that Lex Autolease has decided to implement moDel for all its new vehicle deliveries, following recommendations from retailers within its new vehicle supplier network.
“moDel has become the UK’s benchmark system for fully automated vehicle collection and delivery within the fleet market.
“Along with the new mobile phone and vans capability that we introduced recently, we are also about to launch a number of new features within the system which we believe make it still more attractive and user-friendly,” he added.
