Ebbon-Dacs’ moDel vehicle movement management platform has chalked up record results, after the volume of vehicle movements handled by the system hit an all-time record with over 30,000 movements in a single month.
In March this year, a combination of moDel and moDel-VM, the stand-alone version of the system, were involved in some 30,418 vehicle movements compared to 18,636 movements in the same month last year – an increase of 63% and the highest the system has yet achieved.
And in the first quarter of this year, the moDel system handled almost 70,000 vehicle movements on behalf on dealer groups, leasing companies, rental suppliers and logistics providers – another record.
That compares with just over 37,000 vehicle movements in the first quarter of 2017, a year-on-year increase of more than 84% as the system has become increasingly recognised as the UK’s number one electronic vehicle delivery and collection solution.
Some 17 major contract hire and leasing companies now use the moDel solution for all their new vehicle transactions, with the country’s largest, Lex Autolease, the latest leasing company to sign up to the system.
Lex Autolease, which operates a fleet of more than 380,000 company vehicles, opted to roll-out moDel across the 58 dealer group network which supplies the bulk of its new vehicles, after a successful month-long trial at three suppliers – BMW Park Lane, Norton Way Group and Swansway Group.
Other major leasing companies to utilise moDel from Oxford-based software solutions provider, Ebbon-Dacs, include, ALD Automotive, Alphabet GB, Arval UK, Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions, Inchcape Fleet Solutions, LeasePlan and Volkswagen Financial Services.
The system is also employed by major daily rental provider, Thrifty Car and Van Rental UK, and some 14 independent logistics providers, as well as a network of more than 150 dealerships around the country.
The moDel solution has been designed to allow users to automatically upload all electronic vehicle delivery and collection information directly into their back office systems, or into Ebbon-Dacs’ market-leading Leaselink e-procurement platform, thus cutting time, errors and needless administration as well as speeding up time to market.
In the last 12 months, Ebbon-Dacs has seen the volume of vehicle transactions going through moDel increase significantly, and in 2017 it handled around 165,000 vehicle movements – a level it looks set to comfortably beat this year.
Ebbon-Dacs’ Commercial Head – moDel, Michael Terry, said: “moDel has become the UK’s benchmark system for fully automated vehicle collection and delivery within the fleet market.
“Along with the new mobile phone and vans capability that we introduced recently, we are about to launch a number of new features within the system which we believe will make it still more attractive and user-friendly.”
These include new invoicing functionality that will enable customers to raise invoice details against their vehicle movements which will in turn link with external invoicing platforms; plus
a new tracking and communication module that will allow more accurate tracking and planning of vehicle delivery and collection times.
And Ebbon-Dacs is currently working on a multi-lingual version of the solution for customers on the European mainland.
